Heads up! The [Aurora Forecast](http://www.gi.alaska.edu/AuroraForecast) for this evening 6/22-6/23 is extremely high, at level 7 out of 9. According to the site, it should be visible low on the horizon as far south as Oklahoma City. Clear Skies! ---

I had a pretty good view of this, the southern version, from 26000’ this morning. ---

Couldn’t see anything, moon is out still, air is hazy, lots of light pollution. But we did spot a decent meteor and some lightning bugs, so a pretty good night. ---

There’s a [30-minute forecast here](http://www.swpc.noaa.gov/products/aurora-30-minute-forecast), based on solar activity measured by satellites at the L1 point between the Sun and the Earth. If you’re within a short drive of a decent darkish sky, that should be enough warning to hop in the car and get to a decent viewing site. And the moon should be sitting around midnight-ish. ---

Woo! Just saw some vague, shiftong greenish blobs on the horizon from the middle-est of nowhere that I could find on the RI/CT border!
