Interesting. My IT firm was involved in the UN response to

Which response was a shambles because the government was a) totally overwhelmed, and b) refused help from almost everyone.

Largely IMO for reasons of misplaced pride. The wiki article, horrible though its description of events is, whitewashes a lot of what went on.

I’m hoping they’ve learned a few things since. The people certainly deserve better.
