Hey, you’re the one picking Philly! They may have the best relief in the league, but you can’t start the game with them (and Lieber won’t be getting 45 starts).

Hey, Philly’s gotta win sometime, right? Right? Actually, I don’t feel good about that pick, but I can’t figure out who else to go with. Washington? Um, no. Atlanta? It’s tempting, and I should know better than to pick against them but the run’s gotta end some time, right? New York? Ha! Florida? I almost picked them, but I don’t think they’re gonna hold together. That just leaves Philly.

Anybody who picks my Dodgers to finish anywhere above dead last in the NL West has been smoking their running socks again.

Otherwise, what **Rufus** said. 😃

I’ll be surprised if they finish worse than second.

Easily. It’s going to be fun to watch, especially watching the Mets finish 3rd after spending a bazillion dollars on two players.

DePodesta is the AntiChrist. The team, as it is now, can’t even turn a simple double-play. With no defense, iffy pitching and questionable hitting, the Dodgers are on their way to the cellar. The Giants will dominate the division, with the Padres close behind. Mark my words, the Dodgers are going to make the \*Diamondbacks \* look good this year.

I will happily eat this post if you are correct. 😃

You, my friend, must be smoking some of **Munch’s** crack. 🙂

Look, as an Angels fan, few things would give me more pleasure than watching the Dodgers and all their smug little fans go down the toilet in a heaping ball of flame, but I just don’t see it. The Giants are old. Really old. Their entire success rests on the hamstrings and knees of Bonds - not good. San Diego? Good team with a lot of upside, I really like them (as you can see from my picks) but they’ve got some glaring offensive weaknesses in Klesko, Burroughs, centerfield, etc.

Again, I’ll be shocked if the Dodgers finish worse than second or with less than 85 wins.

The Phillies suck. And I love them, damn it.

I don’t see them competing with the pitching in that division. Brett Myers is starting tonight, and it’s the second game of the season. I don’t think they’ll contend much past the deadline, and you know they’re the least likely team in the division to get help even if they are competing, so, nah, they aren’t winning. Maybe as low as fourth, in my opinion. At least Ryan Howard and Chase Utley are going to be stars for some other team.

ALW: _Los Angeles_ (italicized to denote scorn)
ALC: Minnesota
ALE: Yankees
ALWC: Boston

NLW: San Diego
NLC: St. Louis
NLE: Atlanta
NLWC: Florida.

AL Champ: Boston
NL Champ: Florida

WS Champ: Boston

AL MVP: David Ortiz
NL MVP: Carlos Delgado (obviously going to be Pujols)
AL CY: Santana
NL CY: Schmidt
AL ROY: Reed
NL ROY: Hardy - a lot better rookies in the AL this year

AL West: Los Angeles de Los Angeles del Ciudad de Anaheim, or whatever they’re called
AL Central: Minnesota Twins (somebody’s gotta finish first here)
AL East: New York Yankees
Wild Card: Boston Red Sox

NL West: San Diego Padres (assuming the Giants collapse as I expect; also see comment on AL Central)
NL Central: St. Louis Cardinals
NL East: Atlanta Braves (they’re better than they were last year, but so are the Marlins and Mets – should be interesting)
Wild Card: Florida Marlins

AL Champ: Yankees
NL Champ: Braves

World Series Champ: Yankees

AL MVP: Alex Rodriquez
NL MVP: Carlos Beltran (assuming that Pujols’ heel bothers him throughout the year – the Mets’ free agent deals can’t continue to all tank)
AL Cy Young: Johan Santana repeats
NL Cy Young: Tim Hudson

No way I’m trying to call the ROY at this stage of things.
