I guess we can add **Subterraneanus** to the list of celebrities that that threatened to leave the country over the presidential election. Barbra Streisand threatened to leave the country if the elder Bush got re-elected in 1992. In 2000, [Eddie Vedder, Robert Altman, Kim Basinger, Alec Balwin, and Pierre Salinger](http://dir.salon.com/story/people/feature/2001/01/25/chpshot3) vowed to flee from George W. Bush. Allegedly, so did Martin Sheen, Rosie O’Donnell, Matt Damon, Whoopi Goldberg, Ed Asner, Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon, but those statements couldn’t be confirmed. Salinger was one of a handful of people who actually did leave. Good riddance, Pierre; don’t let the door hit you on the way out. I’m having trouble finding out which celebrities threatened to emigrate in 2004, but I seem to Remember Whoopi Goldberg doing this. Apparently, Susan Sarandon has vowed to flee the country if McCain wins. ---
