# Malaysia Flight 370 - who's paying?

I haven’t seen this linked anywhere in this thread, specifically why Australia is paying a large chunk even though it was a flight from Malaysia to China is that the area that it is suspected to have gone down is in Australia’s Martime Search and Rescue Area.

Oh an apparently another suspected MH370 plane part has washed up:
