I am not a Ken doll - I am a GI Joe, as I am sure all of you are. I want some underwear that will allow me to cross my legs, or whatever, without causing excrutiating pain in the junk. Maybe something like a jockstrap. I’m pretty sure that boxers are not the answer. What say you? ---

Check out “joe Boxer” They make a half boxer brief that is … well like a "loved one carefully cupping’ your junk as the day goes by… I only have a few pair, but I know its gonna be a good day when they come to the top of the fresh underwear pile… Cost is high … around $15-$20/pair. and they wear out as fast as any other gonch, but sheesh… who ever designed those had junk… FML ---

Generally any boxer briefs/turnks are fine in that regard. I agree that conventional boxers are way too roomy and allow things to move about too much hence why I don’t wear them. ---

I’m not a male doper but my boyfriend swears by his boxer briefs. He has a job that sees him climbing in and out of his pickup truck and walking ranches and dairy job sites more than sitting in his office. He switches to bikini briefs before he works out. He has explained this as being mindful of what’s important to him. ---

I like the idea of boxer/briefs but my thighs are too large and I find them constricting. Boxers are nice if I know that I will probably be sweating at work. Chafing sucks. For my body type I’m mostly stuck with tightie whities. ---

Boxer-briefs? Are you kidding? No effin’ way. Those are the worst of both worlds. They chafe AND cramp. Not to mention they look stupid as hell. Dude just go with briefs or a smaller pair of boxers. ---

Unless I’m missing something. ---

Calvin Klein briefs or boxer-briefs are what I wear. They’re a little pricey ($20 a pair), but you’re paying for quality. They feel and look amazing. ---

Yet another boxer briefs wearer who swears by them. They really do combine the best of both. They’re also great for sleeping in, even for opening the door in (they don’t reveal anymore than gym shorts would). I usually just buy the Hanes or FotL 3 pack (about $9-$10), but if you want to go upscale Izod makes a nice one that’s about $20 for a 2 pack at CostCo/Sams Club ---

My discomfort shows up when I’m sitting and the junk descends too low, requiring a manual adjustment before leg crossing or whatever. That could prove embarrassing at times. Any undergarment that feels like a “loved one carefully cupping your junk” has instant points in my book. ---

I think what I have learned is that I need something which provides more lift and “cuppage”, and it sounds like boxer briefs fit the bill. A couple of questions, though: My usual wear is Jockey low rise brief. Does the extra material in a boxer brief make it too hot in the summer? Are they available in a low-rise? I don’t care for my underwear, pants and shirts all competing for the same real estate at my waist. Pants tend to ride low on me, and I’m too old for the current trend of displaying my underwear waistband above my pants. **Sampiro** : Are the cheapos enough of an improvement over standard boxers or briefs to make them a good choice? AFAIAC, their briefs are unlicensed nut-crushers. The last Jockeys I bought were $6 apiece, which I thought was high, and the idea of paying $20 for underwear makes me feel faint. Maybe I’ll treat myself to one of the good stuff for special occasions, and hit the bargain bin for everyday. p.s. I meant to put in my OP, by way of explanation (if needed), that the last time I saw Ken and GI Joe, in the '60’s, Joe had a bulge. Alas, poor Ken did not. ---

They’re made of softer material, come in more colors, etc.. If you’re going to be trying to impress someone while in your underwear it might be worth it to have a couple of nice pairs, but otherwise… no.
