Sorry… it seems I’m penis obsessed, but I saw this picture (http:// [dlisted.com/node/29401](http://dlisted.com/node/29401)) (Possibly NSFW, but you have to scroll down a bit to see it) in another [thread I started](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?p=11151614#post11151614), and found the way Prince William was holding his royal appendage, seemed quite weird to me… I call it “the scissor hold”. FYI - I hold mine the “reverse cigar” way… ie, imagive holding a cigar to your mouth, then moving your arm down, with the hot side towards your waist… Kind of like holding a hose (pardon the pun), but with thumb and fingers. So who’s got the better hold?? etiquette?? Or is this just a “royal thing”… 😉 ---

When I saw “the hold” I wanted to start this self same thread. For me, its thumb on top, forefinger below - left hand. The scissor hold he’s using is just weird. On a related note, have you ever seen yourself peeing in a mirror? How come the pee comes out at a different angle to the penis? ---

I hold it between the ring and middle fingers of my left hand. Like the Vulcan symbol, essentially. I’ve never consciously thought about it until now but for the sake of this thread, I dropped my pants and made like I was about to take a leak, and instinctively my left hand went down and propped my python right between the ring and middle fingers. It was then that I realized that this is how I’ve done it my whole life. Instinctively, every time. Like cockwork. ---

It’s not like I begin the dick-holding process by making a Vulcan sign and then moving the hand down to hold the dick. I just bring my left hand down, with the fingers relaxed, and the dick just rests between the ring and middle fingers. ---

When I hold it, it’s 4 fingers below, thumb on top, right hand. I’d say about half the time I just let it hang though. ---

I’m curious what clothing guys have to hold out of the way. I just hang it out through the fly on my pants- what could get in the way of the end of it? Genuinely puzzled. ---
