I’ve been to Smell of America a couple of times and, other than by its size, was unimpressed. Their stores are the same stores one can find elsewhere; there are just more of them.
TWO Victoria’s Secrets!
Also riffing on what Dangerosa said…when the MOA opened, Northwest Airlines was offering rountrip airfares, good for one day only, from places like Chicago, Detroit and, I think, St. Louis for $39.00. I believe airport transfers were included as well.
Come in. Spend. Leave with your plunder. Thanks for your support.
When I was a corporate chef I was headquartered at a restaurant at the mall. I loved working there, especially in the winter. I could grab anything I needed or wanted before heading home without making a side trip, and was able to park about ten feet from the door.
I live about 10 minutes away, but havent set foot in it in the last 5 years though.
Nah, it’s been trendy to diss since it opened way back in the Stone Ages.
Do they change the rides at the Mall with any regularity?
Change rides? Not really. They’re not like temporary carnival rides. They’re more permanent than that. They do add rides though. They built a new coaster about 7 years ago (Timberland Twister) and added several more rides a couple years ago when they reopened as Nickelodeon Universe. The newest (Brain Surge) is about a year old.
They have a few specialty stores (there was a farm toy store out there for a long time), but most fail. Turns out shoppers WANT the same stores they can find elsewhere.
Sounds a lot like the West Edmonton Mall. ISTR that at one time there were charter flights from Hong Kong specifically to go to the WEM.
As I recall, same developers. The West Edmonton Mall was first.
You shouldn’t wear black pants to get married, a white dress is more traditional.
