Dumb ass.
The article says the Cessna 172 landed about six hours after it took off, and had had enough fuel for eight hours of flight. That’s pretty good. Typically a 172 carrys 42 gallons (40 usable, IIRC), which is about four to 4-1/2 hours of flight. I wonder if he had long-range tanks?
