yup he skated into it. not he caught a puck up high or was struck in the face with the puck or the puck bounced off of a bad patch of ice. no he SKATED INTO A FLYING PUCK!

Man I love this sport.

Anaheim’s Steve Rucchin has been out for the better part of the season after having been _cross-checked in the back_ into a slapshot to the face. He’s been suffering from post-concussion syndrome ever since.  
Personally, I wouldn’t mind it if more players wore shields (see Bryan Berard).

OTOH, in what other sport do you get to see guys getting _sewn up_ on the bench for a cut over the eye, and then jumping over the boards for their next shift? In baseball, players sit out a game because of a hangnail or a sty.
