Had the most horrible cold I’ve had in years, nasty headache and all, and a little NyQuil cured it right up. About damn miraculous, since I don’t remember Tylenol or Advil as nearly as effective. Hell, I’d say NyQuil’s been about as effective on my cold as say, PeptoBismal on diarrheas. (spelling on drug names: wrong?) ---

Ok, I know this is in MPSIMS now, I still have to ask: wasn’t even better before? I think the formula was changed recently because of a recent scare that an ingredient in it, possibly was involved in stroke cases for old people (actually, that ingredient was present in all cold remedies). AFAICR many thought it was an overstated link, but no matter, that ingredient was changed. What was that ingredient, and: is the new ingredient better? ---

One time, my freshman year of college, I took twice the recommended dose of NyQuil. I took it once, then, about 15 minutes later, spaced out and forgot that I had already taken it, and took it again. I was practically narcoleptic for a couple of days. Not fun. ---

That was the active ingredient in Actifed ™. The replacement is pseudephedrine, commonly known as Sudafed ™. They’re both decongestants, but I always felt PPA worked better (YMMV). Not that it matters, because pseudephedrine is now the only decongestant available OTC :(. But yes, NyQuil is great stuff. Especially with a splash of soda and a twist :D. ---

I love NyQuil. When I’ve got a cold, or cough, or whatever, a dose of NyQuil, and a nice whiskey on the rocks (not mixed, of course), sends me right off to sleep for the whole night. Lovely. I remember a Saturday Night Live skit a few years back, where Tim Meadows (I think that’s his name), playing the character Leon Phelps (the “Ladies’ Man”), was interviewing Helen Hunt, who was playing, I believe, a prostitute. She was swilling down his Courvoisier. When she’d gone through the bottle, she dug a bottle of NyQuil out of her purse and started working on that. Pretty funny. ---

You have to go with the Green Death. Why put a Cherry mask over the pure, nasty horribleness of NyQuil? I think it works cause it tastes so bad. ---

Nyquill, since they changed the formula, leaves me unable to sleep for the most part. When I can sleep, I get weird “Peter Max Meets Picasso in Hell” dreams. You’d be better off with a dose of Robitussin and a double of single-malt Scotch. ---

Whenever I got a deep chest cold, my grandmother would dose me up with a shot of Johnnie Walker, honey, and lemon, stirred into a cup of hot water. DayQuil user here… I’ve found that I function better on fitful, but natural, sleep as opposed to deep, but induced by drugs, sleep. Thankfully, I only need to do this when my allergies are kicking in big time, and I’m attempting to cough up post-nasal drip. * * * \<\< Whee. \>\> ---

NyQuil rules when you have the crud! Get in bed, grab the remote, Kleenex and trash can next to you, take a shot of Nyquil. Wake up 4 hours later, change channels, take a shot. Wake up hours later…you get the idea. Eventually you recover! 😃 ---

NyQuil knocks me on my butt! One swig of that and I am out for ten to twelve hours. After I wake up, I’ve got “the jitters” for the next few hours. Though, except for the feeling that I just got out of detox, I feel great. ---
