I am watching the Roku “Time Portal TV” app right now, and my second favorite show featuring vampires just popped up-_Forever Knight_. I watched it from beginning to pretty much inevitable end. I even watched the pilot movie with Rick Springfield.
I’ll bite. What have _you_ got, good, bad, and so bad their good?

After the vampire punctures the neck vein, in order to drink he has to withdraw his fangs. Then he drinks, but how does he stop the flow once he’s had his fill? He never leaves so much as a drop of blood, just a couple of curious little red marks.

More of a thread about vampire shows, not vampires. There are probably as many answers to your question as there are fictional vampire series.

Not a regular show, but an episode in one show, but I have to mention it because it’s such an odd case.

In a 1967 episode of **F-Troop** Vincent Price plays Count Sforza, who arrives in a hearse, has very pale skin, and wears a tux and a cape. He lives in a mansion full of trap doors and the like.

It’s intriguing, because, as far as I know, it’ the only time that Vincent Price played vampire (or an almost-vampire) in his career. As David J. Skal pointed out in his book _V is for Vampire_ (which is also the title of this episode), you’d think that Price would be the _perfect_ vampire. But as far as Skal and I know, he never played one again (or even did in this episode, I think). He did come close, killing vampires in _The Last Man on Earth_, the 1964 first adaptation of Richard Matheson’s _I Am Legend_

Not if you are looking for a singular answer.

My guilty favorite is a Canadian series, _Blood Ties_, based on a Tanya Huff book series that I read first. [Blood Ties (TV series) - Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blood_Ties_(TV_series))

Also _Midnight Texas._

> **[Midnight, Texas](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midnight,_Texas)**

> Midnight, Texas is an American supernatural drama television series broadcast on NBC. Midnight, Texas is based on the book series of the same name by author Charlaine Harris, who also wrote The Southern Vampire Mysteries, the novels which were adapted into the True Blood television series. The series premiered on July 24, 2017. On February 14, 2018, NBC renewed the series for a second season, which premiered on October 26, 2018. On December 21, 2018, NBC canceled the series after two seasons, an...

> On the run from his past, young psychic Manfred Bernardo is told by the ghost of his grandmother to seek out refuge in the fictional town of Midnight, [Texas](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas "Texas"). There, he will find a community that can help him. Full of diverse characters—including a vampire, a witch, a fallen angel, a [half-demon](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cambion "Cambion") and a werecreature—Midnight faces numerous threats from the outside world as it welcomes the newcomer.

Which other than maybe Kolchak, is my favorite “Vampire Show”.

I’ll put another +1 for **Forever Knight** and have the first two (and in my mind, ONLY) seasons on DVD.

Most shows that have substantial vampiric cast oversell it, or undersell their non-vampiric characters and arcs. The only Vampire TV series I enjoyed was the short run of Blade: The Series, which while imperfect, had several moments of genius. The _biggest_ problem (leaving out the recasting) was that the two different main stories didn’t connect well.

I think it would _really_ have worked better by being it’s own thing in the Blade Universe and leaving Blade out of the story.

Not a Vampire series, but an honorable mention to the [Space Vampire](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0533111/) from Buck Rogers - as a kid, this one creeped me out a bit, and was before we had the avalanche of sexy vampires. I was used to the portrayal of various Legosi-clones, and this was different enough to stay in my head for a long time to come.
