Then it’s just a matter of making sure they’re filling out the verdict forms correctly, and if they have any trepidation around how it looks to the public to return a verdict so fast. ---

If they knew of him and didn’t like him, this case is just going to deeply reinforce their feelings. Even if they are that statistical anomaly and are a MAGA New Yorker, I struggle to see how the aura of Trump would remain after the testimony is over. If I’m right, and they formed a negative opinion of “the defendant” from this trial, then it will make it easier to return a guilty verdict. Damn straight, he shouldn’t be able to shoot people on 5th Avenue and get away with it. If I were a juror, I’d relish delivering that message. ---

I had a look at a predominantly right-wing, bordering on MAGA, message board, and they are, predictably, the opposite of how we are here. To them, it’s all political: Biden is pulling Merchan’s strings, so that Merchan’s daughter gets $93 million for Democrats, and Biden wins the election. Oh and hey, Biden was at the trial today, which the mainstream media won’t tell you. No cites for that or any other allegation, of course; everything is always, “I heard” or “Somebody said,” or similar. Anyway, if Trump is convicted, his popularity will soar through the roof, and he will coast to a landslide victory. I don’t stay around there long enough to need a good stiff drink, but I’m glad I have the SDMB to come back to. ---
