I wonder if a split verdict actually adds credibility to it. IOW, less of an argument that it was a rigged rush to judgment. Not to say the cult won’t say that anyway, but to the sensibilities of the average non-MAGA. ---

Even if it’s all guilty. I’ve been the foreman on three, yes three, separate criminal trials. The form in my last one was for four counts. It took about 3 minutes, but all were guilty. The others took equal time, but were all one way or the other. ---

I went to Costco this morning for a few things and I had no plan to buy booze, but ended up getting some mango margarita because it just sounded so yummy. I wonder if the judge will have to poll the jury for each count. That would be 408 “do you agree with the verdict on this count?” It would take hours. ---

My examples are anecdotal. The forms were very easy and my case didn’t have 34 counts. In my cases, the whole crime was split into various charges. They really were all or nothing for us. The form is really just a very small form. In one trial, it had a verbatim part for me to read aloud in court. In others, I just had to say the word “guilty or not guilty” depending on the verdict. Last time, which was murder, I was stunned how quick my verdict went. ---
