I know people are saying that this case is small potatoes compared to trying organize a putsch and intimidate electoral officials. But it is somehow fitting that the first thing Trump is ever charged with is something really sleazy. ---

Just for the record, this is not the first time a President or ex-President has faced criminal charges. Grant was arrested for speeding. IIRC, the arresting officer (a black man)'s words were “Sir, I have the utmost respect for you, but the law is the law”. President Grant pled guilty. ---
