It no longer applies to witnesses and the jury, will remain in effect for court staff and District Attorney Bragg. > “Until sentence is imposed, all individuals covered by Paragraph (b)” – referring to members of the court staff, the district attorney’s staff and their families – “must continue to perform their lawful duties free from threats, intimidation, harassment, and harm,” Merchan wrote in the ruling. > > And although he struck the portion of the gag order pertaining to jurors, Merchan wrote that it would be his “strong preference” to extend those protections because there remains “ample evidence to justify continued concern for the jurors.” ---

Since the witnesses and jury are no longer involved with the case, and cannot be influenced by Trump, this seems fair. It also gives Trump rope to harass and rant against them, which might not look that great when determining his level of remorse at the time of sentencing. ---

I don’t think Trump would (or could, he’s an imbecile) but he certainly could post something like, “Nobody even knows who these Juror People are, they could be working for the DEEP STATE.” And then one of his more technical MAGA followers proceeds to dox them. Then again, a gag order can’t be forever. It is supposed to be in place to keep the trial from being tainted. If he goes after people outside of the trial that’s a concern for law enforcement, not the courts. (Or for law suits.) ---

To make an end around (assuming the final decision is that he is the beneficial holders of the licences), he would have to give up some form of control. I think he would have trouble with that. ---

I had understood that Trump’s golf courses were actually owned directly, or at least relatively directly compared to most of his properties. Weren’t they going to be first on the collections list for some of his court-ordered fines for that reason? ---

He might be able to transfer ownership of the refreshment areas of his golf courses to Don Jr. or Eric with the understanding that if they do anything against his wishes they are out of the will. ---

He doesn’t have to actually have a will in order to threaten to take people out of it. If that threat can be used to control people he’s not going to give it up.
