Correct. Juror No. 1 was allowed to be seated. Six total have been seated. Six more plus ~6 alternates still needed. ---

Merchan said he can have the day off for it as long as things are on schedule and he responded by saying “the judge won’t let me go to his graduation”. ---

Being a resident of NY, they will be a bit more sophisticated and harder to identify (and thus exclude from the jury.) Unlike, say, a red-cap-wearing guy in Alabama who drives to the courthouse in his pickup truck equipped wiith a gun rack to hold his hunting rifles. It only takes one such person. ---

I was thinking Merchan should grant his request. Given that Trump probably doesn’t want to actually be at the graduation, clear the schedule for the afternoon, let Trump leave with enough time to get to the ceremony and make sure he’s back in court at 8am the next business day. But, and I think I said this earlier, require him to be there. He requested the day off to attend the graduation, that means no rallies, no golf, no fundraisers etc. ---
