I don’t know, but I imagine that it’s just another attempt to delay. If the motion is granted, there will be a delay. If not, then there isn’t. But making such a motion fits with Trump’s usual “delay, delay, delay” strategy. ---

Judges are generally amenable to accommodating the scheduling needs of jurors, witnesses and attorneys. Rarely are they concerned about a defendant’s wishes regarding scheduling. That person’s wishes garner the least consideration in the courtroom. ---
