This is just like **Irina Pantaeva** , the actress from _Mortal Kombat: Annihilation_, who was billed to American fans as an “Eskimo” from Russia. Actually, she is one of the Buriat people from the part of Siberia near Lake Baikal, which is at least 2,000 miles from the area where the Eskimos live. The Buriats have nothing in common with the Eskimos at all. They’re actually Mongols. It would be like saying that a Portuguese is the same as a Finn. But what the heck, Americans are too ignorant to know or care about the difference, right? Ridiculous!!! ---

But I believe it is compulsory for them to be the mortal enemy on the football field and tradition requires gloating from whoever wins. I don’t want to lose my citizenship by not sticking to the rules 😉 I do have a large soft spot for Aussies, several of my family live there and this Xmas one of my favourite Aussies is coming here for a visit but part of what I like about them is the “bloody Aussies” “bloody Kiwis” routine. **Polycarp** maybe we kiwis should look at making you our official songwriter 😃 ---

They had to take her aside and explain that it was all in good fun. Of course, she now mixes it with the best of 'em in the trans-Tasman verbal stoush. Bloody Kiwis… 😉 ---

Nah, **calm kiwi** , I wasn’t having a go at you. I just don’t entirely buy the “mortal enemies on the playing field” bit, as I reckon that’s all media hype that the gullible fall in with, just so a few more tickets and shirts get flogged off at the gate. Gee, guess ya can tell I ain’t an avid sports fan, eh? 😉 ---

I’m not either **Ice Wolf** in fact I watched the last 10 mins of the game just to see if we beat em. I don’t watch any sport unless we play “bloody Aussies”. No that’s a lie I enjoyed the netball but then we won that too :D. It’s fun being gulliable, try it, you might like it (never bought a shirt or a ticket though). I reckon it’s not so much media hype as wallaby envy. ---

“Wallaby envy”? Dunno. I heard some fairly one-eyed, knowledgeable Kiwi mates o’ mine today, sports fans mind, say that if the All Blacks didn’t tighten up their act, the English would maul ‘em in the World Cup. This despite th’ recent victory. Could be interesting. I’ll just look out for the headlines, thanks. ---
