I’ve been doing production support all week for a new rollout which has meant working from 7am to between 5 and 7pm each day. As a result I’ve been driving instead of taking transit. Good god people I can keep working these hours but if I have to drive in rush hour again I’m going to snap. First of all morons – daytime running lights are NOT headlights. It’s barely dawn, it’s snowing and raining and hard to see at the best of times and you are almost invisible with no tail lights and your dim little headlights. Might be a little better if you could bother to clean the snow off your lights. What the FUCK is with people who race to get into the single car sized gap in front of me and then SLOW DOWN? What the HELL. _breathes_ On the plus side the implementation went 100x better than I expected and slightly better than management predicted and I have managed to make it through an entire week without killing someone. ---

Okay, I take back my mini-rant. Said toddler is a) cute and b) quiet. Good combo. No one’s really getting much work done, though. (“Throw the ball!” “Can you catch the ball?” “What does a cow say?”) Now someone’s cued up some pop music on their iPhone. “Can you dance?” “Lookit him dance!” “AWWWWWW!” (Dance, monkey. Dance!) You can slice through the estrogen with a knife right now: a whole officeful of late 20s/mid 30s women, and one cute little boy. ---

_sigh_ Some fucking lowlife(s) came into my front yard between approximately 3:08 and 3:45 this afternoon and cleaned out my delivery from Amazon of my new 24" monitor ( but they left the empty box for me to recycle ). I’m half kicking myself for wandering away from the front of the house so I missed the delivery. But altogether pissed that somebody had the cojones to enter my yard with a car in the driveway, rip open that big fucking box, loot it of its contents and then skedaddle out of sight with a good-sized monitor, all in about a half hour window. First time I’ve ever had this kind of thievery at this house and I get packages all the time. Just a particularly inconvenient crime of opportunity, I’m sure. The good news, Amazon are being mensches and refunding the money without any equivocation - they didn’t even ask for the police report. So I’m having it shipped to friend’s job ( can’t do it at mine ) and I’m not out any money. Still…infuriating. ---
