Since the other [thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=319088&highlight=Pokertropolis) was getting a bit too long, I decided, on my own, without any prior consultations with anyone, to start a new thread to kick-off the 4th quarter. First, let me take this chance to invite anybody who wishes to join us to please do, we play on Thursday’s at 7 pm Pacific time. Here’s what you need to do. 1. You need to go to [Pokertropolis](http://www.pokertropolis.com) and download their software and create anaccount for yourself. If your screenname is the same or similar to your SDMB login name, all the better. 2. You need to make sure your account is funded. Please try and do this a day or two before and quite often a credit card will not work because a lot of banks will not do business with these sites. 3. Email to **Aholibah** your pokertropolis username and ID#. This is so you can be included into our private tournament. 4. The day of the tournament log on to Pokertropolis and then go to ‘Tournaments’. If Aholibah is not asleep at the switch you should see a tournament titled **SDMB - Private**. Click the signup button and you are in! (We play a masssive 10 cent buy-in with a 50 cent rake, so if you can’t afford to lose 60 cents we do not recommend you play. We are advocates of responsible gambling.) 5. To add to the fun, we all tend to get togther in a chat room on AIM. If we can get an AIM login we can invit eyou in and you can take part in all the fun. Right now there are about 17 people who are already in, although we never get that many on a weekly basis. All are welcome! My bad beat story of the week: I was playing five handed with some buddies on Saturday and I must say I was playing pretty well. It came down to head to head and I had about a 3 to 1 chip adavntage. The blinds are getting pretty big and I have KQo. The other guy goes all-in and I decide to call. I had read him correctly he was bluffing out of a small stack with an 83o. So the flop comes 6Q9…a pretty dominating pair, he needs runner runner. Well since this is a bad beat story you probably know how it goes, 7 comes on the turn and a 5 on the river and I lose. Grrrrrr! One card from winning it all to even. Then the cards continued to go against me and I ended up losing. The next round I was the first out when I ended up all in with KK in the hole and lost to a set. ---
