I have a bruised pubic bone. Why? Because I work the drive-thru often and people regularly pull up ten feet away, and expect me to hand their credit cards, change, food, etc. across ten feet. I’ve collided with the bottom of the window so many times, it hurts to bend over and pick anything up. And part of my job involves hauling very heavy tubs, of cheese, sauce, etc. Pull up closer! Laughing and going, “Oh, I’m kinda far away!” doesn’t make my arms longer. ---

Get a snow shovel, and have them put their money in it, and you can put their food and/or change in it when giving it to them as well. ---

Well, that’s another possibility. Actually, during the pandemic some drive-thrus did have their POS terminals on long sticks. I’d be fine with these sorts of idiots who pay in cash being asked to put their money on snow shovels, and then having their food and drinks delivered to them that way, or possibly flung at them with large slingshots. 😉 ---

My eldest son has been off his game, sleeping non-stop and skipping meals for 3 days. Today he tested positive for Covid. ( Happy St. Patrick’s Day? ) He’s had all his boosters though; should be fine by next week. ---

News organizations and citing their sources. I’m having a debate with someone about the Dominion vs FOX court filings, and discovered just how few news sites make any attempt to cite their sources. I had to figure out that the filings were to the Superior Court of the State of Delaware, then find that the quotes in most of the articles are actually from the _exhibits_, which are much harder to find than the summary documents, as they are hundreds of MB downloads. Then, finding that the exhibits are non-trivial to _search_, as the text that I’m looking for might be contained in an image in the file… I’m aware, of course, that a lot of the reason for not citing anything is for competitive reasons: avoiding giving any assistance whatsoever to rival networks or websites. But you wonder how much of it is simply sites copying others without having seen the original reference(s) themselves… ---

I’m with you on this one, it’s an ongoing frustration of mine. A story summarizing and highlighting a court filing is fine, but please include a link to the actual court filing. I’m especially frustrated when I go to the CNN or WaPo article and I see a hyperlink on the phrase _yesterday’s court filing_. Then I click it, thinking I’m going to see the actual court filing and instead I’m taken to yesterday’s story on the same subject. I usually end up doing a search that includes the name of the case, the number of pages in the filing (usually mentioned in the story) and .pdf…….so, “Dominion lawsuit 187 page .pdf” for example. This usually brings me to the actual document. ---

This pancreatic cancer is such a PITA. I just ordered a couple rollators because walking 5 feet exhausts me for a good 15 minutes. I’m getting estimates on a stair lift because getting up the stairs is even more exhausting. Even if I’m not doing a lot of exercise (now 5 steps walking, sheesh), I spend most of my time asleep. The Friday PET scan didn’t happen because my blood sugar was too high. Hey, dudes, one of y’all told me to stop taking my diabetes medicine. WTF did you _think_ was going to happen? At least the infusion (as of now) has not been cancelled. I’m wondering how that’s going to affect me given how tired I already am. Time for another nap. Damnit. ---
