**marcmcroy,** Congratulations on discovering the Straight Dope on the other end of whatever anti-government Alta Vista search you performed last week. I know a name like “Straight Dope” sounds like it must be a haven for Illuminati-spotters like yourself. The thing is, while there is a strong culture on this board of challenging conventional wisdom, there is an equally strong culture of **rational fucking discourse** , and this is where you part ways with the vast majority of this board. Because, whether you believe it or not, [you don’t get to opt out of laws you “didn’t sign up for”](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=694722) and [LGBTQ people are indeed actual life forms](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=695012). And the odds are quite good that the unbaked bullshit that will be the subject of your next thread will be met with equally unanimous refutation, which you will disregard with misinterpreted writings that you read on the internet somewhere. If you’re not remotely interested in re-examining your assumptions based on rational, informed debate, why the are you even here? Wouldn’t you be happier somewhere else where fellow conspiracy buffs will affirm the cognitive drool you’re dribbling on these forums? Plus, I don’t know if you missed this in the SDMB user agreement, but all registered users implicitly agree to have their every action recorded by Obama once you pass the 85 post threshold. Sometimes that section of the user agreement is missing if you’re on a computer that the government already got to. Some people even surmise the government goes so far to edit the posts of individual users if they get too close to the truth! HAHA NOTHEY DONT. I have rarely seen as fine an example of the “straining at gnats while swallowing camels” mode of thought. Although he seems vaguely disappointed that no one is following that “God told me it is okay” trail of breadcrumbs he keeps trying to lay. ---

Maybe it’s wrong of me, but I enjoy those threads. I find them entertaining. FWIW, I think that the guy is serious. I’ve met a few people who truly buy that freemen of the land crap. ---

Not going to argue with that, but I will point out that in the OP of that thread, he presents himself as someone who has only recently encountered of the notion and is toying with the idea of adopting it as a lifestyle/political philosophy. Such disingenuousness merits a ban for trolling. IMHO. ---
