I can understand ‘pleased’, but “proud” is more of a stretch than Ponting tried in the 5th Test when runout by Freddie.

I read the bit about “… not push for decommunisation (of Eastern European countries)… not risk the security of the Soviet Union” as “won’t go there guns blazing demanding that democratic elections be held, ‘there’ including the USSR.”

So basically she was promising not to do something that it would have been real stupid and expensive to do, and to let the nations of the Eastern bloc find their own paths. How does that make her an enemy of freedom?
