Hi All, I have been a habitual pot-smoker for about a year and a half now, and a cigarette smoker for about 6 months (smoking no more than 1 or 2 cigs a day). I’m not looking to be counseled on my lifestyle habits, but instead I have a question about impotence… I’m fairly young (18), and have recently been surprised to find myself not “performing” as well as I would expect. I’m currently showing classic signs of moderate ED – I can achieve an erection during foreplay, but when it comes time for sex, I can’t keep it up. This is embarassing for me, and dissapointing for her, and I want to know what to do about it. I’ve done a bit of research. Apparently smokers who smoke a pack a day are a lot more likely to have difficulty “keeping it up”. Also, apparently habitual pot-smokers are more likely as well, but I have yet to find a scientific reason as to why. My specific question is about marijuana seeds though. I have heard the rumors that smoking seeds makes you become infertile – not to mention they taste like burning wood. Recently I accidentally smoked some seeds…actually recently on a few occasions, due to low grade marijuana. My question is, is it possible that smoking seeds is making me impotent? I know many cigarette smokers that have no problems in bed, and know people who smoker more pot than I do without my problems. Any help is appreciated. ---

I’d simply stop smoking seeds and see if that made a difference. ---

You could stop smoking seeds altogether. There is no THC in them, they taste bad and are likely to explode your joint all over the carpet. They are of no benefit whatsoever in the practice of smoking. That you may suffer from the occasional impotence is likely unrelated. ---

Right, and as I said above, I accidentally smoked them and don’t really plan to anytime soon. Basically I just want to narrow down the causes of this problem. So if it’s not the seeds, is it the pot-smoking in general? Is it the cigarettes, even though I don’t smoke a pack a day? ---

This is a great opportunity to do your very own science experiment! If you are still in high school, I highly recommend it for your science fair. Stop smoking for… what will it take people, two months? Three? Then you can seduce a girl in the name of science. Okay, but really. Stop for a while and see if it has an effect. You’re young, there’s plenty of time to get high later. Best of luck to you. And stop with the tobacco, will you? It’s gross, and will reduce your chances of getting laid dramatically. ---
