Exactly. Call it what you will, but home movie cameras weren’t expensive, cutting-edge technology in the early 1960s. I’ve got the tapes that my dad took back in that era, of the usual stuff - vacations, Christmas mornings, etc. No audio, and these days we’d totally ridicule the picture quality. But if someone back then had used it to film their sexual encounters rather than their kids opening presents on Christmas day, it would have been good enough quality to clearly show Tab A going into Slot B, so to speak. ---
