Jeesh. If I go, it’ll be a men’s wool overcoat and a red fedora for me. Under that, probably my usual black pants, white top. I guess I could open a few extra buttons for the sake of the dopefest, but heck, I’m starting to wonder if I’m ritzy enough for this crowd. ---

**Just a note on what people wear** : I know that there’s always a lot of talk about the crazy get-ups that some folks will be wearing to the big dopefests. However, as unofficial chair of the unofficial New York Dopefest Disorganizing Committee, I just want to point out that the vast majority of the people that attend wear perfectly normal every-day outfits. The typical attendee will be wearing jeans or slacks with an ordinary shirt, blouse, sweater or sweatshirt. That isn’t to say we don’t love the folks that show up in fedoras, mini-skirts, low-cut blouses, kilts, or cleavage-emphasizing leather cut-away shirts. And chatting up the outfits is part of the pre-dopefest fun. But don’t worry about feeling out of place if you show up in jeans and a sweatshirt. ---
