Please explain to me how _Rubystreak_ could derail a thread without comment from you? I’ve been reading this board for 9 years. I wanted to continue reading a thread as started by the OP. Not one that Rubystreak thought would be better if we included her obvious bias. She has all the means at her disposal to start a new one of her choice. I’ve read multiple threads that have been _compromised_ by her, and was frankly fucking tired of it. So, guess I should have tattled. Good on you, _Rubystreak_. ---

Unfortunately threadshitting and hijacking are officially sanctioned at this board. It’s one of my least favorite things about it, as the membership here is quite fond of doing both. Complaining about threadshitting and hijacking, on the other hand, is NOT allowed, and will get you admonished and/or officially warned. It’s bizarro-world but that’s how it goes. Cecil must’ve had a dear grandfather who was a threadshitter or something. ---

Not having a clue what thread you’re referring to (and not being a mod), all I can say is, maybe you should have tattled, but probably not by starting a random thread here. I’m guessing the proper channel to go through would be to report the post(s) in question in the thread you feel is being derailed. Or pit \*\*Rubystreak \*\*with links to a thread/multiple threads you feel she’s derailed, if you feel like getting into all that. Seriously, what satisfying answer could you possibly get from this? ---

The OP of the thread contains a link to photos of the actresses in Sex and the City, looking pretty rough, in costumes for the new movie. I was not hijacking it— I was discussing the topic as stated in the OP. You, on the other hand, wanted to make it about CGI aging effects, which is not mentioned at all in the OP. I don’t see how my posts were off topic but yours were on, since I addressed the OP and you went off on a tangent. You also got in a few really pointed personal attacks on me, and engaged in some nasty junior modding and swearing. So you got a warning. Sucks to be you. Get over it. ---

Yes of course you should have “tattled”. That’s how mods know when to go to a thread to lay a smackdown on someone. If they get multiple people reporting one specific incident, there is a higher chance they just might listen, in theory. Same goes for one specific person always having some of their posts get reported. I report damn near anything that comes close to threadshitting and let the mods handle it from there. If more people complained _using the report button_, like they are supposed to, we just might see a turnaround in how threadshitting gets handled 'round these parts. And while we’re at it, can some of you please stop feeding the fucking trolls? ---

I found the thread on my own before any posts were reported, and no matter what you think about **Rubystreak** , you’re not allowed to insult other posters in Cafe Society. You broke the rule and you’re dodging responsibility. If you feel someone else is breaking the rules, as always, you should report it. **Rubystreak** definitely helped push the thread off topic, but from the OP, the thread was not just about the de-aging CG effects. And your comments to **Rubystreak** made the hijack worse. ---

Not to be rude, but if you don’t have a clue… The whole point was to have a disagreement (in thread) without reaching Pit proportions without have another poster report the post. Just stating my case as Marley said I should so in ATMB. Commenting on his/her moderating. The whole point is that I didn’t want to report anyone or take it to the pit. I quoted the portion to which I was responding, about the attractiveness of the actresses and men’s reactions to the show as demonstrated in the OP and the link in it. Is that really a hijack? And since the OP makes zero mention of CGI de-aging effect and indeed had no idea they would be used, is a discussion of that also a hijack or what? Conversations flow organically and don’t stay strictly on the exact topic of an OP if they go on for any length. I reread the thread and I really don’t see where I’m derailing it in any meaningful way. If I was, it certainly wasn’t deliberate or trolling or in any way meant to garner this kind of reaction, I promise you. Justin\_Bailey and I were definitely debating heatedly, but civilly, and I feel confident that part of the thread would have remained amicable. Zhen’ka could have talked about CGI while the other conversation was going on, couldn’t he? I mean, why is this such a big deal? ETA: Why warn you? You were very nasty in a way that I don’t think I provoked at all. I reported it rather than get into a pissing contest with you in a CS thread. I really don’t think I was thread shitting, and I think I’ve offered ample evidence of why. You still do not get my point. The OP and a bunch of other posters talked about the attractiveness of the cast, so it was already a topic before you started posting there. You did pull things off topic by making it a debate about why men hate the show, and that’s been discussed at great length in other threads. It was probably going to wind up going there anyway but it was a hijack and it overshadowed the stuff about the CGI and the current movie. ---
