He most certainly did.
His son was Lord Alfred “Bosie” Douglas who had an affair with Oscar Wilde . When the Marquess found out about the affair he accused Oscar of being a somdomite.
Wilde sued for libel and this lead to his jailing and excile from society .

The 1997 movie [Wilde](http://us.imdb.com/Title?0120514) will give you a very good account of these events . It also has a great performance of Wilde by a English actor/funnyman Stephen Fry .

He was also a noted advocate of atheism.
