I’ve probably seen all the reruns of MARRIED WITH CHILDREN, but I haven’t seen any explanation of what happened with Peg’s pregnancy. She is pregnant for several episodes, but there never was any baby born as far as I have seen. Also, the same question about Marcy’s baby, for that matter. I’ve consulted the website of the guy in Germany that has much information on this sitcom, but I don’t think he knows about these babies either. ---

I think the actress playing Peg (Katey Sagal) had a miscarriage, and they made the whole pregnancy thing a dream. I don’t think I saw this myself, so it might be very wrong. Plus, I don’t know why they wouldn’t show this in the reruns. ---

It all turned out ot be a dream that Al was having, ala “Dallas”. Peg and Marcy were never really pregnant. ---

And later in the series, when Ms. Sagal was pregnant again, they employed the usual means of disguising it so that it did not need to be written into the story line. Similarly, Bobcat Goldthwait and Linda Blair played some of Peggy’s relatives in one episode. They left behind their sevenish-year-old kid who came to stay with the Bundys (Bundies?). After it became obvious that he wasn’t going to work out, he was just written out of succeeding scripts. No explanation or anything. ---

It was indeed a miscarriage, very painful to Katey Sagal. I recently saw an E Profiles or True STory or something on her. The woman is nothing like Peg-she is smart, witty, intelligent, humorous, gracious and attractive. She finally was able to have a child. If you’ll notice, the period between her pregnancy and the final dream episode, she is missing from the series, and they say she’s in Wanker County, resting. That is because she was recuperating. ---
