I went out and used my 4" refractor to see Mars last night. Got lucky - it was a really clear night, and I saw more detail in it than ever before. Could easily make out the polar cap, and much shading from the terrain. Looking at that Hubble photo I could identify what I saw in my scope. What a great time to have a telescope! ---

Yours looks like a picture of the Hubble telescope taking pictures of Mars. It’s only 1 degree of separation so that’s pretty cool. ---

You know, now that I see these two images, i demand to know why my tax dollars have been spent on the former. It’s rather obvious that the two are comperable in quality, so why are billions being spent? I urge you one and all to write to your congress person and demand that this rubish be put to an end! ---
