Close, Hong Kong actually. Where one looks up only to see buildings rising over a layer of smog and chemicals expelled from pollutants. If we’re lucky, we can see perhaps one star… and that would be the sun. 😉

Just took some photos of mars last night. Used a digital camera with my 8" dob and a 4mm ortho ep. The polar ice cap was very visible. Good fun.

**starman** , could you give some details of how you hooked up your digital camera to your scope? Exposure time, apeture, etc? thanks

Where I am at the local science center is having a party - with the big telescope trained in the right direction and everything. The cherubs and I are already signed up to go.
