Characterizing a traffic accident as “killings” renders the term a bit meaningless. People were killed, but that’s not what “killings” is usually taken to mean. ---

The rules say that I am counting cases where the killer was charged or would have been charged had he lived. If you are the sort who picks out the cashews from the mixed nuts it is easy enough to do so. ---

Had the driver lived he likely would have been charged with a crime. Further, I _added_ cases like this in response to claims my work was meaningless without it. It is better, I think to include all the vehicular homicides I can find than excluding them all. Worst of all would be trying to include only the vehicular homicides that were “really” homicides. How can we determine which vehicular homicides really count? Too much of a judgement call. If you would like to exclude them, it is easy enough for you to do. But I would caution you that you are likely to be criticized by those who would prefer you do your project according to their rules. The Internet is like that.
