He’s been relentless with the “Chicagoland” tag and grouping of stories in recent months, with the clear implication that there’s an overarching unifying theme. He hasn’t done that with any other city I’m aware of.
Bryan Ekers said it better than I could. The climactic scene, with the “dicks vs. a__holes” monologue and the gruesome annihilation of the entire Film Actors Guild (“Alec Baldwin, FAG”) shows that while there is satire of American foreign policy, they don’t really think the going alternatives are any better. And more to my point, Drudge idiotically posted the Paris terrorist outtakes from the opening scene as somehow suggesting that the movie would be promoting Islamist terrorism. The one thing you can say about that movie is that it has little to nothing positive to portray about Arab or Muslim religiosity or culture. “Dirka dirka! Muhammad jihad!” Which probably makes sense as they obviously don’t cotton to organized religion much.
I note that Drudge has not yet gotten around to posting a link about Palin allegedly hitting it with Glen Rice. (No more or less relevant a story than CHICAGOLAND!).
This pretty much nails it. AS long as that audience exists and they don’t bother update their XML feed, Drudge will continue to be a useful idiot for the right.
