Good point, justaredhead. The larger cup sizes are assumed to be attached to larger chest sizes (rib-cage), and is probably more common, but there are exceptions. My sister was explaining once the comparison in bust size between herself and a friend. They had the same chest measurement, but she was all rib-cage/no breast, her friend was small rib-cage/big breasts.
A similar conundrum for guys, as an analogy - buying pants for the off-size pairings of waist to inseam. It’s easy to find 34/36 pants, but not 32/36. (I think it’s 36 - not me. I wear 33/32. In between sizes suck, too.)
Yes, it’s really hard to find large cup sizes attached to small band sizes. Bra sizes are also totally messed up once you reach sizes above D. I’ve been wearing a 32F, but
i just bought a 30F, which fits better in some ways and worse in others. (It’s darned difficult to find these sizes, though! We’re talking specialty stores with “bra tents” in the windows.) According to the sizing “standards”, i should be wearing something between a 32F and a 30H. However, i just bought a custom-made sports that’s
size 28II, and it also fits.
For some odd reason, i’ve noticed that European manufacturers make more of these odd small band/large cup sizes…
Women with small breasts, take note - i’m very jealous of you. You get a large choice of fun bras that are (relitavely) cheap and easy to find. When i want something other than beige, i’m paying $80 for a European import!
I know all about the smaller band/bigger cup thing I’m a 38H right now due to weight gain & breastfeeding. A good place to find HTF sizes is the Lady Grace catalogue http://www.ladygrace.com they have up to II cup & 52 band. Is ok I post that link? I’m not affiliated with them, just trying to help others out.
The 32DDD/F is what i get when i use “add 5”. I usually buy these because they are the easiest to find, but the bottom band is loose and tends to slide around. If i do “add 2 or 3”, then i should be buying a 30H (which i have not located yet). The other 30 band bras i wear tend to fit much better at the bottom band. The sports bra i bought (28II) is using the actual band measurement, and it’s tight (as it should be). Nothing is moving anywhere when i wear that bra.
It really irks me that most manufactures start at 34 for band sizes, and that those who do start at 32 tend to make only small cup sizes. I love the 30 band bras, but they take major hunting to find. (So far, i’ve only seen a 30 band in European imports and custom-fitted bras.)
Whenever i go bra shopping, i’m temped to have reduction surgery and get them hacked down to a better size. That still wouldn’t solve the problem of finding anything in a 30 band size, though. I’m just doomed.
well, im a 34 B. i look at you gals with your huge boobs and i think to myself- get a reduction! aren’t you in pain? doesn’t your back hurt? i would think a DD is big enough cup size. i personally would love to be a C. im 5’2 so i’m all in proportion. i wonder about the girls that have my frame and are DD or bigger. come on, F, L, H, W? call it concern, call it jealousy, call it pruidist old fashion thinking, but breast that big just aren’t right.
I think my breasts are just fine, thank you very much. I don’t have chronic back pain. I took care by lifting weights to build muscles that cope well with holding up my abundant breasts. Why should I have surgery to cut off a part of my body that gives me and my husband pleasure and possible destroy its function as well? Why should I risk surgery that can result complications including DEATH when I am happy as I am? And my proportions are just fine too.
What is just not right is someone giving unsolicited advice to cut off part off part of their body. I think that you felt the need to give just advice shows a lack of intelligence, tact, and ettiquette. If this were the pit I would have more choice words for you.
(slowy cowers in fear)
i didnt mean to sould like a fasict. im sorry. ive never talked about this issue before. i just stated what i thought, not what i would say out loud. out loud, i would only pipe up if some one directly asked me something. i realize lee didn’t ask me anything and i dont have the right to saything. if it makes you feel better, i tried to delete my post and didn’t. guess it proves how it proves how unintelligent i am. im deeply sorry and in the future i will keep my opinions to myself.

I personally think your apology was sincere and I commend you for it. I personally take as a guideline that I don’t say anything on the board that I wouldn’t say in person when taking to someone face-to-face. But please don’t be afraid to share opinions with us. Just keep in mind that they should be politely phrased.
