# Maxis is no more

EA has [shut down](http://www.avclub.com/article/ea-closes-maxis-studio-behind-simcity-216105) Maxis. The new Sim City sucked but Maxis brought me a lot of good games through the years. Sorry to see it end.

EA has shut down one of the Maxis studios. It’s the main one, and the one behind SimCity, but there are still other Maxis studios. The Sims will continue to be developed under the Maxis brand. Besides, Maxis has been under the wing of EA for almost two decades.

Same thing he’s been doing since he left Maxis in 2009, I’m guessing.

That is sad. I hope he will go on to do other things later on.
