That’s [Krazy Kat](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krazy_kat), from the golden age of newspaper comics. Kat was in love with Ignatz Mouse, who threw bricks at Kat’s head by way of discouragement.

It looks like Ignatz or Kat from the early 20th century strip Krazy Kat. The two were always throwing bricks at each other.
Edited to add: Seeing as **Chef Troy** beat me to it, I’ll add a mention of a Zits strip where Jeremy comes in holding his head, saying, “Hector hit me in the head with a rock!” His mother asks, “what were you doing?” Jeremy replies, nonchalantly, “Throwing rocks at each other.”
I always thought that summed up the adolescent male mind rather succinctly.
