# May/early June Atlanta Dopefest

Branching off from [this thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=416089), since **OpalCat** is going to be moving away sometime June-ish, I propose we do an Atlanta 'fest some time before then.
So, here are possible dates, and vote for where you’d like to have it, either generally or a specific location: 5/12-13, 5/19-20, 5/26-27, 6/2-3. My posse is available all those weekends AFAIK, and my vote is for Red Top.

OK! My calendar informs me that the last weekend in May also happens to be Memorial Day weekend, so if we choose that one, we can have it on Saturday, Sunday or Monday. So many choices!
The downside of that weekend is that the parks are likely to be very crowded, though we could just do a restaurant instead; my vote was for Red Top mostly so that I can let my monkeys roam, but they’re also pretty well-behaved in public. Another option is somebody’s backyard for a cookout–we can host if it’s a smallish group.

Well, kind of, I guess; they do occasionally bring you stuff, but it’s sort of hit or miss. If you like sippy cups, they’re your guys.

We could do it here at my house. Sort of a last hurrah before I move away. I have a pretty big deck but no grill, so if anyone wanted to do a cookout we’d need someone to bring a grill.

I’ve never been to a dope get-together before. Since I don’t hang out in MPSIMS or IMHO much I always seem to find out about them after the fact. So, I might be intreasted in going, however the only weekends I can do it is 12-13th, or 19-20th.

We’ve got a grill we can bring.

My house is still up as an available location. I’m right off of I-75 in Kennesaw. For those who have been to the fests at Red Top, I’m like 3 exits closer to Atlanta from there.

OK, looks like somebody’s gonna have to make an executive decision here. Since the 19th is this coming weekend, I think that’s too close, and since **OpalCat** , who has offered to host, prefers next weekend, I hereby declare that the 'fest will be May 26th. **Opal** , what time? My preference is for mid-late afternoon, since that will work best with our nap schedule.

Mid-late afternoon works for me, as it isn’t so hot then. I do want to warn everyone: I’m in the process of getting ready to move, so my house is kind of chaotic at the moment, with things out of place and boxes everywhere. Just a heads up. (oh, and anyone wanna buy my house?)
