FIL came to visit for the first time in 10 months as he is finally vaccinated. I told him when he visited **Sr. Weasel** would be working, and he said, “Forget him, I don’t care about him, I just want to see my grandson hahaha!” Considering he hasn’t seen his own son in the better part of a year, I thought that was pretty shitty. And then he just… Was there. I don’t think he interacted with **Wee Weasel** more than two hours. He bailed during the boy’s second nap. He wasn’t manic, at least, but I am amazed we ever thought this man would be reliable for child care. He didn’t even seem present. He seemed bored. Not to mention his shitty, “People in the family have told me they’re giving up on inviting you to things” passive - aggressive garbage. Because “people in the family” don’t know how to behave in a fucking pandemic, this is somehow our fault? We reached out to our vaccinated cousins and they are delighted to see us and meet the boy. Our schedule is now booked through mid - June with family and babies. “People are saying” my ass. ---

Including the 15 minute wait in the facility to make sure I don’t need immediate medical attention I drove there and back home in less than an hour. I am struggling to stay awake and upright today though. It’s a bit worse than the first one. Just wiped me out. And the injection arm feels like it was hit with a foul baseball (sore but not agonizing). It’s more than worth it but I’m glad I at least can recover on a Sunday. ---

I had the Novovax and no symptoms at all, except for perhaps being tired. But that may have been because I _wanted_ to be tired. 😉 ---

In the past couple of weeks I’ve noticed a very disturbing trend, with a couple sightings now that nicer weather is out: dudes with fanny-packs slung over their shoulders. If it’s in the back, it looks like a uselessly small knapsack, and if it’s in front - a purse. I’ll try to advance the cause by sporting five of them at a time, everywhere. ---

Just posted the new job for the new nanny. The relief between my husband and I is _palpable_ so even though it’s hard, there was this instant feeling of _yes this is the best decision_. Now who knows how long it’s going to take to find someone new?
