Meh. He’s not wrong, though. This platform makes FAR too many all-hands announcements (with the exception of Admin-and-Mod-generated stuff, I’d peg the necessary number of those at ZERO). Not that I expect an appeal through ATMB to bear much fruit. ---

I don’t mind the “so-and-so has been away for a year” or whatever posts. Because then I have the option to say, “Welcome back!” I mean, I basically never don’t, but I like that I _could_. ---

I actually did bring up the _Let’s Welcome Back So-and-So!_ posts in an ATMB thread. The first time I was subjected to one of those cheerleader-y blurbs was right after a post where someone followed up saying their dog had a month to live. Someone who’d been quiet for months posted to offer advice, but mostly condolences … which of course was prefaced with a chipper _“Let’s all welcome back **PainfulExistence** , it’s been 4 months since they last posted!”_ ---

Enough, enough, ENOUGH about the passenger who landed the airplane when the pilot passed out. Sure, it was a great story for a day. But not enough for several days of gushing stories on the evening news. We haven’t seen such over the top out of proportion gushing over an aviation feat since Lindbergh. ---

I probably have COVID, and I need to do the test, but it’s too complicated. 🥺 My weary brain cannot deal with this. I need to know so if it’s negative, I can go to the library and get some books that are on hold. I’m a little annoyed that I have to go to the library and the library lockers at the mall, because the hold system doesn’t work right and I couldn’t change the pickup location for one of the books. Life is hard! ---

So my mom’s cousin called me at work today to find out what kind of wine she likes – she thought it was chardonnay – but between the drama of a project engineer getting fired and the general yelling/confusion over a forced software update from corporate that effectively broke half of the computers, I was distracted enough to only let this cousin know that Mom likes red wine. I think I should have specified a name. 😶 Mom now has a box of Franzia Merlot sitting in the kitchen. According to the box, it contains enough to fill 34 glasses. ---

Ah, the PJ party! Dad and his college buddies did this; the vat was a trash can from Kmart, and they stirred it with their arms. One semester, someone always had to make sure that the guy who was taking an animal husbandry course didn’t try to help stir the stuff. ---

I’m feeling kind of crappy this week myself, and don’t know if it is COVID or just allergies or a spring cold. I’ll be doing a home COVID test later and see what shows up. But whatever it is, the timing couldn’t be worse. We’re having a dump truck full of rock delivered tomorrow that will need to get moved from the driveway to the back yard for some landscaping we’re doing. I was already not looking forward to all that work, but it will be even worse if I feel like crap.
