While it may seem odd to do such a thing, I used this information twice for very specific reasons- once in post #166 to refute his assertion that he doesn’t have time to post a “saga,” and once in post #196, to refute his assertion that he hadn’t been able to reply to Boscibo’s post in MPSIMs because he was sleeping. Why? ::shrug:: He’d spent the whole thread weaseling out of short questions like post #2; I figured he may feel a bit more comfortable with a length he was more accustomed to. He certainly doesn’t HAVE to take it to email, but since- as you pointed out- this is a messageboard, he should also be prepared for folks maybe not having the best opinion of the situation. I’m trying, and failing, to think of a good analogy. My point regarding the email thing is this: If Liberal is sensitive about how people perceive his daughter, and if he sees that a situation regarding her has the potential to escalate into a place he is not prepared to go, then the simplest course of action is to stop his side of it. By taking it to email, he could address his concerns in a way that respects his daughter’s reputation and his privacy. Plus I can’t follow a line of thinking that goes something like “I hate, hate, hate it when people paint my daughter out to be a monster. It makes me go blind with rage. I’m going to post a thread that invites lots more people to make terrible assumptions and accusations. My issues are as follows: - Liberal, after a mod ruling, persisted in hijacking a MPSIMS thread. Whether his initial post can be considered thread-shitting is up to other people to decide. - After hijacking the thread, he posted this Pit thread in which he accused “people” of slandering (my word, don’t misinterpret) his daughter and of being “fucking half-witted troglodyte(s).” - Now, that is certainly his right, but what he doesn’t seem to understand is that by posting the OP, as is his right, it is everyone else’s right to come in and question his and his daughter’s actions. Every response that isn’t supportive is seen as a direct personal attack on him, and his original concern- his daughter’s reputation- is becoming more and more tarnished. - Halfway through the thread he tosses out additional information. And not just any information, but information that (as I’ve pointed out a few times) would have ground the whole thread to a halt if we’d known it beforehand. The cat had problems. Well, shit- that changes things a bit. - When people point out “Well, shit, dude” he begins a campaign of name-calling, avoiding, and outright lying. When I pointed out that perhaps this whole thing could have been avoided with a few extra words, he completely ignores the entirety of the post and accuses me (later) of witch-hunting. - His new crime is, in essence and as far as I am concerned, the same as the one he started with. He lies and intentionally misleads/misinterprets in order to engage in a campaign of name-calling and martyrdom. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to bed so I can muster up the energy to go to work tomorrow. Thank you, Caridwen, for asking me for clarification. ---

The cat, Cinnamon, slept with me from six months on in my crib, til he passed when I was 11 years old. Mom watched to see if it was a bad thing. My early memories are having a furry heartbeat right there always, and soft fur to hang on to. Never had any disease issues with this, rather, it was the very best influence of bonding with other species from the git-go, and fostering an understanding of connection with creatures beyond oneself. It wasn’t nasty and dirty, it was understanding the world beyond Human. I am very grateful for that understanding, and it has held in good stead. I am not afraid of the real/natural world. I had cats in my cradle, and their purrs have added greatly to my perception of the world. There ya go, Lib. ---
