# Maybe I'm just thick, but how do I enable "cookies"...

so I don’t have to log on every dang time? Also, how can I set my preferences to always show posts from the last five days in each thread on forums? :dubious:

Go to  
“tools” on your explorer bar  
Then “internet options”  
Then"privacy"

There is a slide where you can adjust cookies - go to medium and at the bottom you can manually override the cookies by putting in the Stright Dope address.

Assuming, of course, that you are using Windows and IE.

Thanks for the reply, **Lyllyan**. I must have a different version of IE than you, because I don’t have a selection called “privacy” in my “internet options.”
