Let’s get last week out of the way for sure and then start the new: > [@Come on in, the water's warMMP](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/come-on-in-the-waters-warmmp/805675/250): > > Kopeck, can you explain to me the meaning of the phrase “used meat?” You said you went to Sam’s to buy used meat. I confuzzled. > [@Come on in, the water's warMMP](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/come-on-in-the-waters-warmmp/805675/253): > > I take credit for the term “used meat” - it is, in fact, what we always called the marked-down-for-quick-sale meats and when I shared the term here it caught on. You’re welcome. 😃 **Moom** is almost certainly right. We basically hijacked the term from here ages ago and really like it. Around us Sam’s is far and away the best place for getting terrific meat at silly-low prices approaching its “best by” date. Our Sam’s is just a little tough in terms of location and the lines can be silly sometimes so its not something we do more than once a month or so. Which reminds me — I need to re-up our membership there this month. --- _[View the full topic](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/maybe-this-is-this-weeks-mmp/806129)._
