You know, it occurs to me that when we finally develop brain implants that can connect us to the internet, provide instant access to knowledge and assist our brain in thinking, the religious right will attack this as ‘a tool of the devil’ and demand that it be shut down because the information it provides is in direct opposition to their own set of ‘facts’. Or they’ll try to develop their own, ‘faith based’ brain implants. :smack: ---

Jesus fucking Christ. My son the addict is back in the fucking ER for the fucking umpteenth time. Disoriented, shaking and drunk. His mother had to deliver him. I’m sick to death of this guy fucking up his life and the lives of everyone around him. ---

Yeah, unfortunately ‘rehab’ is all too often just a cooling off period to get back some of the tolerance so that it doesn’t take as much to get high. Or to get people off your back for a while. ---

Miraculously, he’s kept hold of his family, job, and house through it all. He’s mainly an alcoholic with a smattering of speed or whatever is in vogue with construction workers these days. I can’t even imagine the pain of seeing one’s child go through this over and over. ---

I am watching CNNs coverage of the Royal wedding. I just realized I have to stay up til 4am to see the stupid thing. They coulda had an afternoon wedding. Hell she’s American, didn’t she think about that. Surely she has friends and family over here. ---

No, I meant afternoon for them. I did think wedding was 10am U.K. time though. I am not that invested in seeing it live. I may have to see the replays. I am sure there will be plenty. ---

If you’re serious about this, you have created a fantastic example of a US American thinking the entire world should adjust itself to your schedule. They’re having a wedding in the UK at whatever time pleases them, with little thought to the viewing pleasure of US Americans, which is exactly as it should be. ---

I don’t think the world should accommodate me at all. I would think she would want her extended family to see it live, She is American, after all. I have no dog in the fight. Just saying. As it turned out, I went on to bed. And have just been watching the wedding replayed on the BBC. Worked out just fine.
