What does the MC stand for in MC Hammer. I say Master of Ceremonies. My boyfriend laughed at me but couldn’t come up with an answer either.

Anyone?

Your boyfriend owes you an apology–you’re right. Take a look at [this](http://www.everything2.com/index.pl?node_id=123409&lastnode_id=363967).

mc is like a hip hop title.

it stems from master of ceremonies, but the initials have been appropriated for other meanings like:

make complete
move the crowd
mic checker
mic controller
