# McCain campaign claims Northern Virginia isn't 'real Virginia'

No. It’s not.

I live on Elm Street in Town City, Virginia. Next door there’s a pizzeria that sells thin crust pizza. A mile down the road, there’s a pizzeria that sells deep dish pizza. Therefore, I live on the “real Elm Street.” A mile down, I perceive that part of Elm Street to really be part of Chicago.

I don’t care what it’s like where you live. It’s bullshit to label your personal experience as “real” and mine as not.

I figured the fundies were big on “secondary virginity”, so a secondary Virginia wasn’t much of a leap.

I can’t remember who said something like: _Anti-elitism is the worst kind of elitism. It’s elitism, but it pretends **not** to be elitist._

Republicans don’t want a secondary Virginia. The last time they tried it, they ended up with Robert Byrd in the Senate.
