McCain invents Blackberry!

Except that he didn’t say “create the commercial internet”, he said “create the internet”.

I saw one interview where he said “In my time in the US Senate I took significant initiative in the creation of the commercial Internet”. I believe it was Larry King.

When I first got on the Net, it was before domain name addresses were in common use. You had to to route the main via “bang addressing” and know which network your addressee was on and manually route the mail from network to network. The bill that replaced NSF funding was the birth of “The Internet” as a place where you weren’t explicitly forbidden from engaging in commerce, and use domain addressing for e-mail.

That’s a different quote, though. What the palaver about was his specific quote that “… I took the initiative in creating the internet.”

You guys are cracked.

McCain was saying that he’s so old, he invented Blackberries, breeding them out from proto-raspberries back at the dawn of time.

Sheesh, all this about McCain and blowing off the fact that Obama claims[sup]1[/sup] to have cradled the dying Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in his arms and still has the blood soaked shirt he wore? Man, the left leaning bias is clear.
[sub]1 Not really, my neighbor who likes Obama likely confused him with Jesse Jackson.[/sub]

Which is subtlely different from him saying he created the internet, which is what you said earlier. Gore misspoke because he should have said he took the initiative on helping others create the internet or something like that. But he didn’t say what he is widely laughed at for having supposedly said.

Holy crap! It’s been 8 years, will you ever let go of the “Gore created the Internet” meme?

Okay then, I think I will mention how Gore won the 2000 election in every thread I can find, “Hey, cute kitty it reminds me of Gore winning the popular vote in 2000!”
Sometimes we need to learn to let things go.

McCain’s first wife waited five years and in deteriorating health for him to come back from Vietnam. He divorced her and married a pretty young heiress, leaving her in her wheelchair. W attacked McCain’s family in the slimiest manner possible in the 2000 primaries, and instead of standing up for his family and shunning Bush, which is what a real husband and father would have done (as well as issuing a few choice words about the sliminess of the whole thing) McCain cozied up to Bush, hugging him and saying nice things about him.

McCain’s first instinct is always to abandon his family for his own gain. The man is a coward and without principles or honor. He is the sleaziest man ever to run for president. At least Bush would defend his own family. The sad part is that he will likely win.

I believe Ms. Lewinsky said that once while wearing a blue dress.

Stupid or not, it appears we can say anything about McCain.

We can say the nastiest, most vile things about the man and never have to worry about hurting his feelings.

In this day and age do you people REALLY want some dildo who can’t send a simple email as your president?

Steps:

  1. Turn on “hard drive”
  2. Move mousey thing.
  3. Put pointy thing over email picture.
  4. Push the left button on the mousey thing.
  5. Find picture what says “send email”
  6. Put pointy thing over it and click mousey thing.
  7. In “to” but an email address
  8. In “subject” put the name of the email.
  9. In “body” put the email itself.
  10. Put pointy thing over “send” and click the mousey thing.
  11. Watch as Jesus uses his magic and takes the email letter down the pipe. across the interwebs, all the way to the other persons computer.
  12. Pick up the telephone and call the person you just sent the email to and tell them you just sent them an email.
**Extra points if you tell him what the email said.

My 80+ year old father in law with three strokes under his belt can send a simple email (attachments are another story).

What amazes me is how any of his supporters can say this an honorable man. He was a POW. I get that. But being a POW or veteran does not automatically make you an honest, good person.

Which sadly only reinforces my belief that my fellow Americans are some kind of stupid. After 8 years of BS I don’t see how anyone can even begin to think the same old thing is a good idea.

The fact is that we dont know if he’s personally honorable or not, digging into his personal life (wife, divorce, etc) is (IMHO) not a good perspective, we dont know how things transpired exactly and none of us would like thousands of strangers criticizing our personal decisions.

Now, what we can do is compare the 2 campaigns, and the MCain campaign, with his direction or not, has been unworthy of MCains reputation of honor.

If it is with his direction then he’s not the honorable person he pretends to be.

If its not, then he’s only a puppet and disqualified for the position he seeks.

And here I thought that the Blackberry was invented by that patent troll that sued RIM. Hmph. If you can’t trust patent trolls, who can you trust?

Well you have to admit that it is unlikely for RIM to be Canadian, for Canada is a blue state rather than a red state.

arrrrrgggghhhhh!

You can leave me out of your “we”. He left his disabled wife, he embraced the man who attacked his children and changed his opinions to match that man’s opinions. I and many others think that any one of these was enough to see his dishonorable nature. Not to mention his influence peddling during the Keating 5 scandal. There may be people who would urge he be given the benefit of the doubt for these multiple betrayals. They are not reasonable people, they are enablers.

But it *could *be a red state if the election forecasts are wildly incorrect and our head of state calls upon the Liberals to form the next government in October.

The wife thing is personal, and should be left alone IMHO, and i think he wasnt as implicated as his enemies would like him to have beenin the K5 scandal (supposedly he did not do what Keating wanted him to do).

but, i am with you in the matter of the changing of opinions between 2000’s MCain and 2008’s MCain

The wife thing is essential to understanding his true character. This is a man who is as sanctimonious as virtually anyone in his public statements Why I Support John McCain – a life uncommon on marriage, yet he ignored his “in sickness and in health” vow, dumped a disabled woman and marriage a younger and richer heiress. And he wants to be president of my nation and is nominated by a party that has spent the past 40 years (as far as I remember) posturing about how superior they are to their opponents on precisely these issues and about how character is an issue.

As far as the Keating 5 scandal, he took the most money of any of the Senators, and he did try to intervene for Keating after Keating goaded him into doing it. http://www.wmsa.net/People/john_mccain/ariz-republic_chap_V_1999.htm

Without any sarcasm at all. This is the single number one reason why I will be voting for Obama. I do not think a computer illiterate has any place as President of the United States. He cannot possibly comprehend the issues of the day if he’s computer illiterate.
