Love my bank app. Hate my car payment app.
Love my bank app too, ez check deposit, transfers, bill pay. I haven’t been on a bank property in a couple years!
Also cannot function without my library apps, hoopla, Libby, Freegal.
The Sam’s Club app is great for Scan & Go. No more standing in checkout lines.
I use the Overdrive app to get ebooks and audiobooks from the library. I use it every day.
My beloved Amazon app. I don’t think any explanation is necessary with that one!
My local TV station weather app. I use that numerous times every day. Mostly to see what I should wear in the early AM when I walk the dog and then later in the day. Also, if I’ll be able to hang my laundry out. The weather is very fickle around here. The temp can change 30 degrees in a matter of a few minutes.
I check my Pedometer app every day.
I use IMDb a lot. I use it to look at reviews, to help me find out “who is that actor and where have I seen them before?”.
The Podcast app - I use that daily
The Word Collect & Scopa apps - games I play while I’m watching TV. I am no longer able to just sit and watch TV.
Others that I use all the time: Amazon Music, McDonald’s, Bible Passage a Day, MapQuest, Pinterest, TikTok, bank, and wildflower, tree, insect, bird identification apps
I’ve wondered about the identification apps, do you find they’re really useful and accurate? I would use it on my walks or trips looking at mostly naturalized habitats not tended beds of cultivars.
I click on the “I’m here” button when I’m about 3 minutes from the restaurant. Never waited more than a few minutes to get my freshly made food.
I don’t go to Mac enough to see if they have an app here in Taiwan.
I have a Japanese language exchange app so I can chat in Japanese much more often. I love Chess.com app and Kindle.
The way the Sonic app seems to be used at my local store is that people drive in, then order on their phone instead of trying to talk to the speaker. They choose ASAP and say which stall they’re in.
That’s why my dad likes it. He’s always been a bit hard of hearing, and likes not having to try to hear over the speaker. And, as long as they actually have the option, they seem to do a much better job of not messing up custom orders. Unfortunately, though, some options are missing, like leaving off the bun.
He mostly just orders drinks, though. That’s what got him started using the app: they had a promotion with half-price drinks on the app. Heck, now I believe that you have to use the app for that, even on Tuesdays (half-price day).
I love using the ID apps. The flower app uses a picture you take of the flower. I’ve used it mostly for ID’ing wildflowers but have also used it on flowers in gardens if I see something I might like in my garden.
The bird ID app asks you questions about the bird you want to ID. Size, color, where you saw it, etc. Then it shows you the possibilities. I think the insect one is similar.
I guess I don’t understand the need for these apps at all. I don’t do fast food much, but an order and pick up never takes more than 2-3 minutes, at most for myself.
Sorry. Not intended as a thread shit. How long are some of you folks waiting?
It’s really hit or miss - sometimes 5-10 minutes, sometimes I’d be the only person in line. Part of the reason I like the Sonic app is that I can park and spew pollution into the air while waiting however long it takes.
That was my experience with KFC. I ordered via app and showed up when it was supposed to be ready, parked, called, and it took longer than it usually does sitting in the drive thru. And to make matters worse, the drive thru was empty so I’m pretty sure it would have been faster doing it that way. (KFC is notoriously slow anyway, I usually call it “somewhat fast” food, but it was still slower with the app.)
Maybe your experience and mine were anomalies but it made me shy away from using it again.
Did you mean “not spew” or are you rolling coal?
Depends on if you hit certain locations at peak times. Lunch, dinner, morning coffee rush, etc. Saves a lot of time at the assembly-line type of food places like Jersey Mike’s, Chipotle, etc. Don’t have to stand in line, recite the order, pay. Just step inside, grab it, and go.
