I don’t know if anyone has noticed, but McRibs are back at McDonald’s for a limited time. $1.00 apiece with any value meal.

I know the sandwiches have both their fans and their detractors. Me, I’m into comfort food, so I stopped by Micky D’s and grabbed me a Big Mac combo and a McRib. Not exactly cheap these days, but I loves me a McRib sandwich.

If you’re trying to put me off McRibs, I used to work for McDonald’s, so I know what they look like before they’re cooked and I don’t care. Most meat doesn’t look palatable when it’s raw and I don’t eat my meat that way. I’m licking the barbecue sauce from mine off my fingers as I’m typing this.

I love how they put the faux bones in there.
ETA: Hey, I just made a funny with out realizing it!

Yep, looks like a frozen shaped meat patty. Just about what I figured. Mm mm good.

Sorry I confess I totally fail to see the appeal. I never have. When they were first out, and I first heard of them, I thought, “How’s that gonna work?” I knew it would be something gross, and I was not disappointed. I spent a good deal of time peppering my friends with questions like, “You’ve had real ribs, right?”, “You know what a pulled pork sandwich is, right?”

I was baffled then, and I am baffled now that this manages to pass as edible food, to be honest. But, hey, it takes all kinds to make a world! However I, for one, am left scratching my head at this news!

I used to love the McRib, but TWICE I have found a little bone chip in the patty. The first time I wrote it off as a fluke, but the _second_ time I bit down on a tiny bone fragment, I decided I had had enough. What the hell is the point of eating a heavily-processed meat patty if there’s going to be bones in it? At least with real ribs I know where the bones are.

I don’t see what the big “hate” deal is. They’re ground pork sandwiches, seasoned and topped with barbecue sauce, onions, and pickles, and served on a bun. BFD! I make the same thing in my kitchen at home all the time, and they’re delicious. The only difference is, I don’t use a press to shape mine.

… And you never find bone chips in the ground meat you buy at the supermarket? :dubious:

Hell, I once found a ceramic chip off a dish in a bowl of mushrooms I was eating at the Black Forest in Minneapolis. A friend of mine had eggshells in his egg salad at Sardi’s in New York, ferchrissakes! Shit happens in the best of places!

The thing to do in a case like yours is complain to the manager, not entirely give up on fast food.

Texture is important to those with a discerning palate. Pulled pork and ground pork are two different things.
Having said that, I don’t have any real hate for these things, I just like to give people who eat them a gentle ribbing from time to time.

I must have missed something. Who ever claimed that a McRib was pulled pork? 😕 😕😕

When one has a BBQ pork sandwich, it’s usually of the pulled pork variety. You are the first person I’ve ever heard of that uses **ground pork** to make a BBQ pork sandwich.

But then again, I live in the heart of BBQ country. Using ground pork to make a BBQ sandwich is blasphemy to us. So maybe it’s a regional thing.

There’s one in every thread.

“Oh, I don’t see what the big deal is. I make mine at home all the time and they’re so much more delicious.”

I’m happy for you. Not all of us care to go to the time and effort. Some of us like the convenience of stopping at the drive-thru and having someone else make it for us. To each his own.

You misread my post. I did not say mine were MORE delicious. I said mine were virtually identical, EXCEPT THAT I do not use a press to shape them.

Be so kind as to pay closer attention in the future, _s’il vous plait_.

FWIW, I also use ground lamb to make burgers with a Greek seasoning palette and some feta cheese. Also yummy!

Nor did I ever claim that a pork patty topped with barbecue sauce is barbecued pork. That would be like saying a hamburger topped with barbecue sauce is barbecued beef, which it ain’t.

I don’t think McDonald’s claims the McRib is barbecued pork either. That would be … silly!
