Well, this is [me](http://uk.f1.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/captainblunty/lst?&.dir=/The+one+and+only+captainblunty&.src=ph&.view=t) . mini-hijack > [@](#): > > Not to disagree with you our your mother, but Lizochka is a nice way of saying liz, and makes no reference to your size. Well, I guess it is to disagree, but in the nicest of ways. I respectfully submit, **Svt4Him** , that we are both correct. Lizochka is a diminutive nickname of Liz, and as you see here from [this site](http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=diminutive), > [@](#): > > Grammar. Of or being a suffix that indicates smallness or, by semantic extension, qualities such as youth, familiarity, affection, or contempt, as -let in booklet, -kin in lambkin, or -et in nymphet In other words, any dog could be a doggie if it is little, cute, your favorite, etc. Specifically, a great dane could also be a doggie if you wanted to make a joke about just how small it _isn’t_. I assure you from the smart-aleck look on my host mother’s face that she was joking about my stature. Call me Lizochka to infer that we’re friends, call me Lizochka to joke about my height… Just don’t call me Lizzie! ---

Just got sent a picture from my Inaugural Rafting Trip ™, so I thought I’d post it up here for your amusement. Apparently there was something happening off to the side somewhere that I was completely oblivious to. I’m the guy in the blue Newcastle cap and no helmet, bottom left.
